Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Designer – Substation to support substation design projects across the QISG platform. You will perform routine 2D/3D Physical and/or Protection & Control design tasks with CAD proficiency and a focus on accuracy and standards compliance.

Ideal candidates have strong familiarity with substation materials, construction methods, and utility design standards, plus CAD expertise with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, and SDS.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in drafting with substation design background preferred.
• 4+ years in electric utility CAD/design for high voltage substation projects.
• Proficiency with CAD platforms including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, SDS.

Responsibilities

• Work on design aspects from project inception to completion on substation projects.
• Utilize 3D and/or smart design software for substation design.
• Maintain quality drawing packages for internal and client deliverables.
• Ensure accuracy and quality through QA/QC procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers and drafting teams under Lead Designer guidance.
• Travel out of town for short periods as required by projects.
