Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time vehicle driver to transport students and volunteers to and from LifeWise sites. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, punctuality, and a clean driving record.

The driver must meet strict licensing, safety, and background checks, and be committed to our faith-based community while promoting a calm, caring environment for students during travel and activities.

Qualifications

• Mature Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise faith statements.
• Active participation in a local church aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• Regular driver's license; continuous licensure for the past 3 years.
• Age 21–80; additional docs if over 75.
• Clean driving record with no major incidents in 5 years.
• Pass background check; annual physician's statement as required.
• Complete drug and/or alcohol testing as required.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular bus inspections.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children.
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the Director.
