Job summary

LifeWise Academy is hiring a part-time vehicle driver responsible for safe transportation of public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The role emphasizes punctuality, a clean driving record, and adherence to LifeWise beliefs.

Responsibilities include transporting students, maintaining bus safety and cleanliness, and assisting with classroom volunteering as approved by the Director. Background checks and medical statements may be required.

Qualifications

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise beliefs.
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise beliefs.
• Regular driver's license held for the past three years.
• Appropriate special licenses: CDL with endorsement for passenger vehicle for >15 passengers; or 15 passenger van (no special license required).
• Age 21-80; older drivers may require additional documentation (75+).
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in last five years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy.
• Medical statements for known conditions; annual Physician's Statement.
• Drug and/or alcohol testing required.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children: enforce safety rules, assist students entering/exiting, keep a calm, caring demeanor, monitor behavior.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the Director.
