Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps seeks an entry-level Student success coach and mentor to support students across elementary, middle, and high school. You will coach and mentor students to improve academics, attendance, and behavior, while coordinating with teachers and staff to implement targeted instruction and support.

The role includes 2–4 weeks of initial training, with ongoing guidance from partner teachers and school staff.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training provided.
• Willingness to work with diverse students, teachers and school staff.
• Commitment to City Year AmeriCorps program and service values.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support classroom instruction.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement in-class student assistance.
• Support extended day, enrichment and after-school programs for students.
• Create an engaging, safe, and positive classroom space in partnership with teachers.
