Job summary

The University of Miami seeks a Peer Tutoring Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day tutoring program, train new tutors, and manage lead tutors. This position collaborates with Camner Center staff, tutors, faculty, and other campus partners to improve undergraduate student success and retention.

Responsibilities include coordinating tutor schedules in Navigate and monitoring inquiries, maintaining tutoring policies, supervising front desk staff, and supporting events, reports, and payroll data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or associate in education, communications, or a related field.
• At least two years of progressive experience in higher education or related field.
• Knowledge of best tutoring and learning practices.
• Able to work in an office environment with extensive computer use and software tools.

Responsibilities

• Train new tutors and supervise 5–7 lead tutors; manage schedules and appointments.
• Respond to phone and email inquiries; monitor tutor hours and generate reports.
• Manage tutoring policies and resolve Navigate/UMIT/EAB/Blackboard issues; track data.
• Provide HR-related support for front desk staff; enforce no-show protocols.
• Coordinate tutor hiring, onboarding, and payroll data; support events and trainings.
• Track enrollment, retention, and tutoring statistics; collaborate with faculty and advisors.
