Job summary

Miami University is seeking a Professional Tutor for a part-time, temporary position. The tutor will provide one-on-one or group tutoring, model study skills, and mentor new and returning undergraduate students.

They will work to develop individualized tutoring plans and communicate student progress according to department policies, both on-site and remotely. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Science or Arts by hire date and substantial tutoring/teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree by start date or sooner.
• Significant tutoring and/or teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to explain concepts clearly to a diverse student body.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in various subjects.
• Model study skills and mentor new/returning undergraduates.
• Develop tutoring plans tailored to each student’s needs and communicate progress to professors and staff.
• Assist with distance learning components and maintain documentation per policy.
