Job summary

Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY invites applications for a full-time Student Navigator (CSTEP) grant-funded position within the College’s SCAN department. The navigator helps students in CSTEP acclimate to college life, access resources, and track progress toward persistence and degree completion.

Responsibilities include case management, collaboration with faculty and support services, connecting students with advisors, and developing individualized academic success plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the assignment.
• Two years of administrative/coordinative experience; master's may substitute.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a case manager and on-campus mentor to students in the program.
• Collaborate with staff, faculty advisors, and support offices to encourage persistence.
• Connect with each student's advisor and maintain co-advisor relationships as needed.
• Track progress using Retention Alert and alert team if progress stalls.
• Refer students to counseling and provide information on policies and resources.
• Develop individual academic success plans for incoming students and facilitate touchpoints.
