Job summary

Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY seeks a Career and Transfer Specialist to provide career and transfer information, planning assistance, and opportunities for students. You will deliver individualized and group support to help students explore options, set goals, and plan milestones aligned with the college's priorities.

You will collaborate with faculty, employers, and transfer partners to create programs and resources, arrange internships, and track outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the position and at least 3 years of related experience in higher education or career services.
• Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized coaching and outreach to support students in career and transfer planning.
• Create, develop, and implement comprehensive career and transfer programs and resources.
• Collaborate with faculty, student navigators, employers, and transfer partners to provide exploration resources and events.
• Guide students seeking internships and experiential learning opportunities.
• Create and maintain accessible career resources for outreach and onboarding.
• Coordinate activities and calendars to include career planning in events.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with local employers and transfer institutions.
• Assist with new student orientation and welcome activities.
• Deliver professional development to faculty and staff on career resources and milestones.
• Track records related to student employment, internships, and outcomes; prepare reports.
