Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor for a full-time role in New Hampshire. You will coach and mentor students across elementary to high school, helping them achieve academic progress, attendance, and positive behaviors.

You will train with City Year for 2–4 weeks and collaborate with teachers and school staff to support classroom instruction and school-wide initiatives. This role offers AmeriCorps benefits and a chance to impact communities.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring students 1:1 and in groups.
• Develop literacy and math skills through varied activities.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Develop interpersonal skills using proven learning strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress in City Year’s data system.
• Create an engaging, safe and healthy classroom space with teachers.

Responsibilities

• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students.
• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math skills with varied activities by student level.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect and monitor student progress in City Year’s data system.
• Create an engaging, safe and healthy classroom space with the teacher.
• Support extended day and virtual programs before, during, and after school.
• Create and support events recognizing student growth in math, literacy, attendance, and behavior.
