Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level Student success coach and mentor as a full-time AmeriCorps member in New Hampshire. You will coach and mentor students to achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors in collaboration with teachers.

Training is provided (2–4 weeks) at program start. You’ll join a network of AmeriCorps members supporting schools and communities nationwide.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident (DACA not eligible).
• Be 17–25 years old by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college, or college degree.
• Have served no more than three AmeriCorps terms.
• Agree to and complete a background check.
• Be able to start City Year by July/August 2025.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students, 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support teachers with instruction.
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space and support whole-school initiatives.
