Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level Student success coach and mentor to support students’ academic progress and attendance. You will coach and mentor elementary to high school students, plan progress, and collaborate with teachers to enhance classroom learning.

The role includes training at the start of the year and ongoing support from partners and staff to ensure effective student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
• Ages 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• GED or high school diploma, some college, or college degree.
• No more than three AmeriCorps terms.
• Background check required.
• Start City Year by July/August 2025.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress.
• Support teachers with class instruction and student assistance.
• Develop literacy and math skills through varied activities.
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space.
• Support extended day and virtual programming.
