Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level, full-time AmeriCorps member to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels. You will support academic coaching, attendance, and positive school behaviors while partnering with teachers to enhance instruction.

You will participate in 2–4 weeks of training, work with teachers and school staff, and contribute to whole-child and whole-school initiatives to boost student success.

Qualifications

• Entry-level AmeriCorps position; training provided at start of year.

Responsibilities

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math skills with varied activities by level.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Develop interpersonal skills throughout their day.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect and monitor student progress in City Year’s data system.
• Create an engaging, safe and healthy classroom space with the teacher.
