City Year is seeking an entry-level, paid full-time Student success coach and mentor to support students across grades. You will coach and mentor students, plan progress, and collaborate with teachers to improve literacy, attendance, and behavior while contributing to a positive school climate.

The role includes training, guidance from school staff, and opportunities to engage in whole-school initiatives, with benefits through City Year AmeriCorps.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training provided.
• AmeriCorps member role focuses on coaching and mentoring students.
• Eligibility includes U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and age 17–25.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students across elementary to high school.
• Plan and monitor individual progress and support classroom instruction.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect and review student data.
• Create an engaging, safe, and inclusive classroom space.
• Support school-wide programs and student activities.
