Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking entry-level, paid, full-time Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across elementary to high school. You will coach and mentor students to improve attendance, literacy and math skills, and positive behaviors, while collaborating with teachers to monitor progress.

Training is provided (2–4 weeks) at program start; ongoing guidance comes from partner teachers and school staff.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching or mentoring students is welcome.
• Ability to plan and monitor student progress with teachers.
• Commitment to positive student outcomes and inclusive practices.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math skills through engaging activities.
• Support teachers with classroom instruction and student progress reviews.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space with a focus on wellbeing.
• Assist with school-wide programs and student engagement initiatives.
• Participate in training and collaboration with partner teachers.
