Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them achieve academic success and improve attendance. You will plan and monitor progress, collaborate with teachers on class instruction and in‑class student support, and take part in data reviews of student progress.

You will also support whole-school initiatives, after-school activities, and youth leadership development, with training provided at year start.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring students to improve academic success.
• Ability to work with teachers and school staff to support learning.
• Will participate in data collection and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to identified students.
• Develop engaging literacy and math activities tailored to each student.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space and reinforce positive behaviors.
• Collaborate with teachers on progress reviews and data entry in City Year systems.
• Support before/after school programs and student clubs.
