Job summary

City Year is recruiting entry-level, paid, full-time AmeriCorps members to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school. You will help students improve academic performance, attendance, and classroom behavior while collaborating with teachers to support the whole school.

Training is provided at year start; travel and relocation assistance may be offered as needed, and you’ll receive a comprehensive benefits package typical of City Year AmeriCorps roles.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching and mentoring students is helpful but training is provided.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and staff to support students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academics and behavior.
• Plan and monitor progress for individual students and small groups.
• Support teachers with in-class instruction and student activities.
• Assist with extended day and after-school programs and family engagement.
