Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is recruiting an entry-level, paid full-time Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across elementary, middle and high schools. You will coach and mentor students to achieve academic progress, improve attendance, and develop positive school behaviors, while partnering with teachers on instruction and student support.

We provide 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year, plus ongoing guidance from school staff.

Qualifications

• No prior teaching or AmeriCorps experience required.
• Willingness to complete 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year.
• Ability to work with diverse students and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to earn academic success and improve attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support teachers with instruction and student activities.
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space in collaboration with the teacher.
• Support whole-school initiatives and after-school programs to enhance student engagement.
