Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to improve academic success, attendance, and behavior. You will create engaging activities, track progress in City Year’s data system, and partner with teachers to support classrooms and after-school programs.

The role includes initial training and ongoing collaboration with school staff to ensure student growth and a positive school climate.

Qualifications

• Must have a GED or high school diploma or higher.
• Some college experience or degree is acceptable.
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025 and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math activities by student level.
• Create and implement a behavior management system.
• Record and monitor student progress in City Year’s data system.
• Collaborate with teachers to support classroom instruction.
• Support extended day and after-school programs.
