Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to improve academics, attendance, and behavior in partnership with schools. Training is provided, with ongoing collaboration with teachers and staff to monitor progress and tailor interventions.

You will engage in 1:1 and small-group work, lead literacy and math activities, and support school-wide initiatives for student engagement and family involvement.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring students to improve academic success.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress with teachers.
• Support literacy and math skills through varied activities.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 and in small groups with identified students.
• Develop literacy and math activities by student level.
• Create and implement behavior management for students.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress in City Year’s data system.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space with teachers.
