Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps Member is a full-time, entry-level role focused on coaching and mentoring students in elementary to high school settings. You will support academic success, attendance, and positive behaviors, working with teachers on in-class and small-group activities.

Training is provided at the start of the year. This entry-level program offers a paid stipend and AmeriCorps benefits, with start dates around July/August 2025 and relocation support where applicable.

Qualifications

• Training provided during first 2–4 weeks of the year.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and able to begin by July/August 2025.
• Background check required and successful completion of AmeriCorps eligibility.
• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident (other statuses not eligible).

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support teachers with instruction and classroom activities.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and data.
• Collaborate with teachers and team members on progress reviews.
• Lead extended day and virtual programming for students.
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space and foster positive behaviors.
