Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member positions focus on coaching and mentoring students to improve academic performance and attendance. You will work with teachers on in-class instruction, breakout spaces, and student assistance, developing individual progress plans and supporting school-wide initiatives.

Training is provided, with start dates in July/August 2025. This paid, full-time entry-level role offers a living stipend and benefits through City Year and AmeriCorps.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching and mentoring students is a plus.
• Ability to support academic coaching and behavior development.
• Strong collaboration with teachers and staff to monitor progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to identified students.
• Plan activities to build literacy and math skills.
• Create and apply behavior management strategies for students.
• Help collect and analyze student progress data with City Year systems.
• Support classroom environments that are safe, engaging and inclusive.
• Assist with extended day and after-school program activities.
