Job summary

City Year in New Hampshire is seeking an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students’ academic growth and attendance. You will coach 1:1 and in groups, plan literacy and math activities, and collaborate with teachers to support whole-class instruction.

Training is provided, and you’ll engage in whole-school initiatives, enrichment programs and service leadership. This full-time AmeriCorps role offers benefits and a chance to make a lasting community impact.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident eligible to work in the U.S.
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree
• Have served no more than three AmeriCorps terms
• Agree to and complete a background check
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students; plan and monitor progress
• Work with teachers on in-class instruction, breakout spaces and student assistance
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students
• Develop literacy and/or math skills with varied learning activities
• Create and implement a behavior management system
• Collaborate with teachers and team members to track student progress
• Contribute to extended day and virtual programming and student clubs
