Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member role is to coach and mentor students across elementary, middle, and high school, helping them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors in school.

As an AmeriCorps member, you will receive training, a living stipend, and education benefits while working with teachers and school staff to monitor progress and support whole‑class instruction.

Qualifications

• Be able to work with students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Experience coaching or mentoring is helpful but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor individual student progress.
• Provide literacy and math support with varied activities.
• Support teachers with class instruction and in-class student assistance.
• Collaborate with school staff to track student data.
