Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps Member is an entry-level, full-time position focused on coaching and mentoring students across elementary to high school. You will support academic growth, attendance, and positive behaviors, working with teachers to monitor progress and provide in-class assistance.

AmeriCorps benefits include education awards and a living stipend; training is provided in early weeks of the year as you join partner schools.

Qualifications

• Experience is not necessary; training is provided at the start of the year.

Responsibilities

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups
• Develop literacy and math skills through varied activities by student level
• Create and implement a behavior management system
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor individual student progress
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space in coordination with the teacher
• Support extended day and after-school programs and student clubs
