Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to boost academic success, improve attendance, and cultivate positive behaviors in the classroom and beyond. You'll plan and monitor individual progress, collaborate with teachers on instruction, and support school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident and eligible to work in the United States.
• Be 17-25 years old by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
• Have served no more than three terms in an AmeriCorps state or national program.
• Agree to and complete a background check.
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025 (location varies).

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to boost academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and collaborate with teachers on instructional support.
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space in partnership with teachers.
• Support extended day and after-school programs and school-wide initiatives.
• Collaborate with teachers and team members to collect and analyze student data.
