Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary to high school, helping them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor progress, work with teachers on instruction, and participate in school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, eligible to work in the U.S.
• Ages 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or a college degree.
• Be within their first three terms of AmeriCorps service and able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to boost academics.
• Plan activities to improve attendance and classroom engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers on in-class instruction and student support.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to data reviews.
• Support whole school initiatives and family engagement events.
