Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve in schools to coach and mentor students, helping them improve attendance and academic success. You will work with teachers on in-class instruction, group activities and individual progress tracking, while building positive behaviors and relationships.

Comprehensive training is provided. This is an entry-level, paid, full-time AmeriCorps opportunity with benefits and a pathway to ongoing community impact.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Strong interest in education and community service.
• Ability to work with students, teachers and families.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to achieve academic success.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support class activities.
• Assist with classroom instruction and small-group tutoring.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to track student progress.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom environment in collaboration with educators.
• Support extended day and family engagement activities.
