Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in schools, focusing on elementary to high school students. You will support academic coaching, attendance, and positive behavior while partnering with teachers to monitor progress and tailor student plans. Training is provided (2-4 weeks); start by Summer 2025, with a commitment to a full-time year of service.

Eligible U.S. citizens or permanent residents aged 17-25 participate and receive a living stipend and education

Qualifications

• Experience in mentoring or coaching students is welcomed; training is provided.
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025 (start date varies by location).
• Able to pass a background check and be eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math activities, encourage assignment completion.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and collect data in City Year systems.
• Support school-wide initiatives and student engagement activities.
