Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to improve academics, attendance, and behavior. You will plan and monitor progress and collaborate with teachers to support whole-class instruction and targeted student help.

We provide 2–4 weeks of training, a bi-weekly living stipend, and AmeriCorps benefits. Eligible candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, aged 17–25 by July 1, 2025, with a HS diploma or GED and possibly some college. Start by July/August 2025.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident; DACA not eligible.
• Ages 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• GED or HS diploma, some college experience, or college degree.

Responsibilities

• Coach 1:1 and small groups to improve literacy and/or math.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers to track student progress in City Year’s data system.
• Support whole-school initiatives and after-school programs.
• Help foster an engaging, safe classroom environment.
