Job summary

City Year is seeking dedicated AmeriCorps Members to coach and mentor students across grade levels, helping them achieve academic success and improved attendance. You'll plan progress, partner with teachers, and provide in-class assistance to foster a positive learning environment.

American citizens or eligible residents 17–25 by July 1, 2025, must complete training, and commit to service starting Summer 2025. A comprehensive benefits package and stipend support your service.

Qualifications

• Experience in mentoring or tutoring is helpful.
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork.
• Ability to plan and monitor progress with teachers and students.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to promote academic success.
• Support literacy and math skill development with varied activities.
• Help create and implement behavior management strategies in class.
