Job summary

City Year is seeking an AmeriCorps member to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels, focusing on academic success, attendance, and positive school behaviors. You’ll work with teachers to support classroom instruction and help plan student progress.

Training is provided, with opportunities to engage in extended day programming and community events. This entry-level, full-time role offers benefits and a pathway to education awards through AmeriCorps.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support teachers in class instruction.
• Support extended day and after-school programming and student clubs.
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces in collaboration with teachers.
