Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle and high school, helping them achieve academic success, improve attendance and develop positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor progress, support teachers with small-group instruction, and contribute to a safe, engaging classroom.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident (authorization to work in the U.S. is required).
• Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to support academic success.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and collaborate with teachers on instruction.
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space and support school-wide initiatives.
