Job summary

City Year, a national AmeriCorps program, is seeking an entry-level, paid full-time Student success coach and mentor to support students across grades. You will coach and mentor students, plan progress, and work with teachers to implement in-class support and after-school activities.

Training is provided (2–4 weeks at year start). Eligible contestants will join a nationwide team focused on improving academics, attendance and behavior while strengthening school community ties.

Qualifications

• Experience in all these tasks is not required; 2–4 weeks of training provided at the start of the year.
• Must be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025 (start date varies by location).

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Help students earn academic success and improve attendance.
• Collaborate with teachers on in-class instruction and student assistance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and participate in data reviews.
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space in collaboration with the teacher.
• Contribute to extended day and after-school programs and student clubs.
