Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them reach academic success, improve attendance, and build positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor individual progress and work with teachers on whole-class instruction and in-class student support.

Training is provided at the start of the year (2–4 weeks). You will be part of a City Year team, serving in schools to support student learning and community impact.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching students is not required; 2–4 weeks of training provided.
• Must be able to work with teachers and school staff to support learning.
• Eligibility to serve as a City Year AmeriCorps member in the U.S. required.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math skills with varied activities.
• Create behavior management plans and foster positive classroom environments.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor and record student progress.
