Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in urban schools, providing academic support, attendance encouragement and positive behavior guidance. Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year.
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students.
• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff throughout the program.

Responsibilities

• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students.
• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math skills with varied activities by student level.
• Create and implement a behavior management system.
• Collaborate with teachers and team to monitor student progress and data.
• Create an engaging, safe and healthy classroom space with the teacher.
• Support whole-school initiatives and after-school programming.
