Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them achieve academic success and positive school behaviors. You'll work with teachers to support students across elementary to high school levels, including small-group instruction and progress monitoring.

We provide 2–4 weeks of initial training and a comprehensive support network. This is a paid, full-time AmeriCorps role with a clear path to professional development and community impact starting in July/August 2025.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college, or a college degree.
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and collaborate with teachers.
• Assist with in-class instruction, breakout spaces, and student support activities.
• Support extended day and after-school programs, enrichment, and clubs.
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces in collaboration with teachers.
