Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level, paid, full-time Student Success Coach and Mentor as part of its AmeriCorps program. You will coach and mentor students, help them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors within school settings.

You will collaborate with teachers to plan instruction, monitor progress, and participate in school-wide activities, while undergoing 2-4 weeks of training at the start of the year.

Qualifications

• Commitment to service in a educational setting.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations.
• Good communication and teamwork with teachers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary to high school students.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress with teachers.
• Support literacy and math learning activities and homework help.
• Create a positive, engaging classroom environment with teachers.
