Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level, paid full-time City Year AmeriCorps member to coach and mentor students across elementary, middle and/or high school levels. You will support academic success, attendance, and positive classroom behaviors while collaborating with teachers on instruction.

Join a year-long program with 2–4 weeks of initial training, and benefit from AmeriCorps and City Year supported learning, housing support, and a bi-weekly living stipend as you contribute to student growth

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training provided at the start of the year.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students; help them earn academic success and improve attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and work with teachers on whole class instruction and in-class student assistance.
• Create an engaging, safe and healthy classroom space in collaboration with the teacher.
