Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level, paid full-time AmeriCorps member to coach and mentor students in elementary through high school. Training is provided at the start of the year, with ongoing collaboration alongside teachers and staff to support student success.

You will focus on academic coaching, attendance improvement, and positive behaviors, while developing individual progress plans and contributing to school-wide initiatives. This role emphasizes service, learning, and community impact.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring abilities for students across ages.
• Commitment to supporting diverse learners and collaborative teaching.
• Willingness to train for 2–4 weeks at program start.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support teachers with in-class instruction and student progress.
• Help implement literacy and math activities and track progress.
