Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member sought to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels, helping academic success, attendance, and positive behaviors. Training occurs at start of year; you work with teachers and staff to support classrooms and student progress.

You will participate in school-wide initiatives, collaborate with teachers, and access City Year benefits and AmeriCorps opportunities throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students: work 1:1 and in small groups; develop literacy and math skills; create behavior management systems; collaboratively track student progress.
• Support whole school initiatives to increase engagement with students and families: run extended day and virtual programming; help lead events recognizing student growth.
• Be eligible for AmeriCorps benefits and City Year resources: health/dental/vision, EAP, therapy programs, stipends, relocation support, scholarships.
