Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels, with training provided. The role focuses on academic success, attendance, and positive student behaviors, supporting teachers and school staff throughout the year.

As an AmeriCorps member, you gain hands-on coaching experience, leadership development, and access to education awards and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Prior experience not required; training provided at the start of the year.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 or in small groups to advance academic success.
• Support attendance improvement and positive behaviors in school.
• Plan and monitor individual progress, collaborate with teachers on instruction.
• Assist with whole-class instruction and in-class student support activities.
