This position reports to the Executive Assistant to the Dean and provides general departmental assistance, including administrative tasks, event planning, and/or research projects.

- Assist with administrative paperwork for programs and special projects.
- Help plan and execute events, including handling on-site logistics. Some events will requireevening and weekend availability.
- Provide research assistance.
- Respond to emails or answer telephones in a pleasant, professional manner, and direct people as needed to the appropriate office, department, or person.
- Provide information (frequently asked questions) to people inquiring about the seminary.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Dean's Office to assist in the overall operations and mission of Palmer Seminary and Eastern University.

- Cover the reception desk weekly (as peragreed-upon semester schedule) during the academic year, distribute mail, and oversee the general appearance of the receptionist area.
- Stock classrooms in HHC Library on a weekly basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements for the position include alignment and commitment to the mission and vision of Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University, demonstrated in part by a compassionate spirit towards others. Requirements include experience and understanding of leadership dynamics in the context of Christian ministries. The position requires handling confidential information and demonstrated excellent computer skills in a previous role. A growing, vital Christian maturity and spirituality are also essential. Demonstrated problem-solving skills, the ability to innovate and adapt in new situations, cross-cultural competencies, and willingness to travel are critical.
- A bachelor's degree or prior office experience is required.
- Attention to detail, excellent oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and strong writing/verbal skills are critical. Candidates must be able to manage multiple tasks accurately, have a working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Google Docs, and the Internet, and learn new programs.
- Candidates must promote service and support to others in a ministry fashion; be flexible; have excellent organizational skills; be accurate; be resourceful; be innovative; and be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Other essential characteristics include being able to consult with others while also functioning independently and managing projects with minimal direction; being solution-oriented; and being able to handle many details and take direction.
- Physical requirements for this position include lifting up to 50 pounds and arranging packages for faculty, staff, or students.
