Position Description
This position reports to the Executive Assistant to the Dean andprovides general departmental assistance, including administrativetasks, event planning, and/or research projects.

Position Responsibilities
- Assist with administrative paperwork for programs and specialprojects.
- Help plan and execute events, including handling on-sitelogistics. Some events will require evening and weekendavailability.
- Provide research assistance.
- Respond to emails or answer telephones in a pleasant,professional manner, and direct people as needed to the appropriateoffice, department, or person.
- Provide information (frequently asked questions) to peopleinquiring about the seminary.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Dean’s Office to assist inthe overall operations and mission of Palmer Seminary and EasternUniversity.
- Professionally, embody values of caring and compassion, justiceand integrity, competence and affirmation.
- Seek to treat each member of the campus community withfairness, dignity, and respect, seeking a spirit of unity andharmony as we work together to achieve our common mission.
- Cover the reception desk weekly (as per agreed-upon semesterschedule) during the academic year, distribute mail, and overseethe general appearance of the receptionist area.
- Stock classrooms in HHC Library on a weekly basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position include alignment and commitment tothe mission and vision of Palmer Theological Seminary of EasternUniversity, demonstrated in part by a compassionate spirit towardsothers. Requirements include experience and understanding ofleadership dynamics in the context of Christian ministries. Theposition requires handling confidential information anddemonstrated excellent computer skills in a previous role. Agrowing, vital Christian maturity and spirituality are alsoessential. Demonstrated problem-solving skills, the ability toinnovate and adapt in new situations, cross-cultural competencies,and willingness to travel are critical.
- A bachelor’s degree or prior office experience isrequired.
- Attention to detail, excellent oral communication,interpersonal and organizational skills, and strong writing/verbalskills are critical. Candidates must be able to manage multipletasks accurately, have a working knowledge of Microsoft Suite,Google Docs, and the Internet, and learn new programs.
- Candidates must promote service and support to others in aministry fashion; be flexible; have excellent organizationalskills; be accurate; be resourceful; be innovative; and be able towork in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.Other essential characteristics include being able to consult withothers while also functioning independently and managing projectswith minimal direction; being solution-oriented; and being able tohandle many details and take direction.
- Physical requirements for this position include lifting up to50 pounds and arranging packages for faculty, staff, orstudents.
