Job summary

UNC Health Care Hillsborough Campus is seeking a Student Nurse Extern I to join the Rehab team. This temporary full-time position offers an immersive nursing externship experience, working under RN supervision to deliver care within the Nursing Assistant scope of practice.

The role provides exposure to inpatient rehab settings, learning opportunities, and collaboration with RNs in various healthcare environments. Requires enrollment in an accredited nursing program and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. May require pushing/pulling patients and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Observes, collects, and documents patient information.
• Provides direct and indirect patient care as outlined in the plan of care.
• Assists in routine examinations and procedures, and supports learning experiences for students.
