UNC Health Care Hillsborough Campus is seeking a Student Nurse Extern I to join the patient care team in the Family Medicine unit. This temporary full-time externship provides nursing students with hands-on experience under RN supervision, within a 36-hour work week and 18.00 USD per hour pay.

The role supports admissions, patient care activities, and education, while gaining exposure to various clinical settings and procedures in a hospital environment.

Qualifikationen

• Education: High School Diploma or GED and current enrollment in an accredited prelicensure nursing program.
• Licensure: Nursing Assistant I with NC DHHS and BLS certification.
• Fluent English and good communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Observe, collect, and document patient information and report changes to a nurse or provider.
• Assist admissions, orientation, and discharge planning within the clinical area.
• Provide nursing care per plan: vital signs, measurements, specimens, wound care, etc.
• Perform activities of daily living and assist with ambulation as needed.
• Support clerical tasks, supply stocking, and unit orientation of new staff/students.
• Reinforce patient education and document understanding of instructions.
• Assist with routine examinations and procedures as directed.
