Job summary

ECMC Group in Portland, OR is seeking a Student Loan Customer Service Associate to contact borrowers and discuss repayment options as they progress through the loan lifecycle.

Under supervision, you will make outbound calls, advise on payment plans, deferment, forbearance, and keep accurate notes in the borrower system while updating loan status. Ideal candidates have 1 year of call center or office experience and bilingual English/Spanish skills; a 401(k) and loan repayment benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of office/business, clerical or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Makes outbound calls to counsel borrowers on managing loans and keeping them current.
• Communicates with borrowers by phone, mail or email about obligations and default consequences.
• Receives predictive dialer transfers and handles them within required measures.
• Maintains clear, concise documentation of borrower accounts and interactions.
• Maintains current knowledge of loan repayment laws and options affecting borrowers.
• Updates loan status in the system of record.
• Participates in work group activities to solve problems or improve processes.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
