Job summary

ECMC Group is seeking a call center–oriented loan counselor to contact student loan borrowers and discuss repayment options. You will help keep loans current and inform borrowers of their responsibilities and the consequences of default.

Responsibilities include making outbound calls, maintaining accurate borrower records, and staying current on loan laws and deferment options. Prior experience in customer service is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year of office, clerical or customer service experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. The job may involve bilingual communication.

Responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to counsel borrowers on repayment options.
• Inform borrowers about responsibilities and consequences of default.
• Maintain documentation of borrower accounts in the system.
• Update loan status in the system of record.
• Participate in work group activities to improve processes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
