Job summary

Georgetown College is seeking a Financial Aid Counselor who will advise students and families on financial aid options, regulations, and the application process. The role collaborates with Admissions and other offices to support recruitment and retention efforts and to ensure accurate awarding of aid.

The counselor will manage document workflows, assist in professional development, and serve as the office’s primary contact, upholding college policy and delivering excellent student service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Intermediate computer literacy and ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.

Responsibilities

• Advise students and families on financial aid options and regulations.
• Award financial aid in accordance with federal, state and institutional regulations.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations pertaining to student financial planning.
• Coordinate financial aid activities with College offices (Admissions, Business Office, Registrar).
• Primary contact for the office via phone and email.
