Job summary

Regent University is seeking a Financial Aid Counselor I to act as an embedded resource for financial aid questions across the university’s call center. The counselor resolves complex cases directly with students while supporting the training of new hires in other student-facing roles, ensuring a one-stop-shop experience for aid guidance.

The role requires keeping up with federal, state, and institutional aid programs and coordinating with departments on housing, admissions, and military affairs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or commensurate higher-education experience preferred.
• Experience in university financial aid settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer routine and complex financial aid questions for students.
• Resolve escalated financial aid cases and payment plans directly with students.
• Handle high volumes of internal and external contacts in a call center.
• Support training for new hires and other student-facing teams.
• Coordinate and participate in financial aid events.
