Job summary

Covista is seeking an Advisor in Student Finance to promote student success through accurate advisement in financial aid and related services. You will support students from intake to graduation, review costs, and outline funding options, while maintaining strong client relations and documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years in customer service, with higher education experience preferred. Hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Outstanding customer service skills with 1+ years of customer service or related experience.
• 1 year of experience in Higher Education preferred.
• Experience with Student Financial Aid software application preferred.
• Ability to work a variety of office hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
• PC skills in Microsoft Office, Internet applications, and database software.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain systems access to the NSLDS system (must not be in default of Title IV Federal aid).
• Self-motivated and willing to take ownership of and quickly resolve complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Advise students on financial aid and costs and outline funding options.
• Create and confirm a financial plan with timelines to start and stay in school.
• Maintain student satisfaction through inbound/outbound calls, emails, and SMS.
• Evaluate financial plans throughout the student lifecycle and adjust as needed.
• Use data to track enrollment and graduation information for assigned students.
• Document all interactions in institutional systems.
• Collaborate with departments to deliver an optimal student experience from inquiry to graduation.
• Promote Title IV program knowledge and compliance with policies.
• Engage students via multiple channels to deliver first contact resolution.
